The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) – Film Review

After the enormous success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy back in the early 2000s, it was inevitable that Peter Jackson would one day bring J.R.R. Tolkien’s much-loved prelude children’s novel: The Hobbit to the big screen in the same fashion. And in 2012, the fans finally got their wish as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released, the first instalment in the controversial three-part adaptation of the beloved book. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – Will it be any good?

Ever since seeing the recently released Super-Bowl trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, this film has been on my mind for a great deal of time and so I felt it was appropriate to blog about my thoughts on the upcoming film. While it may seem strange to state this, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is one of my most anticipated films of 2014; not because I am expecting high quality but because I am genuinely intrigued to discover how well this film performs. And based on the promotional material Sony have released for the film so far, it seems almost impossible to predict whether or not this will be any good. Continue reading
