This film will make you cry. There is simply no other way of putting it; if you’re an ordinary human being with blood pumping through your veins and capable of feeling emotion then it is almost guaranteed that you will walk out of seeing “The Fault in Our Stars” blubbering like a baby. And that is not down to an emotionally manipulative or over-egged screenplay which is the case in many so-called “tear-jerker” movies. “The Fault in Our Stars” is a film that effortlessly gets its audience invested in these characters and their stories, to the point where you’ll have to remind yourself that it’s only a movie. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) – Film Review
When Sony’s plans to reboot the beloved Spider-Man franchise were first announced, reactions were mixed to say the least. Some saw it as an early yet necessary reboot in order to remain in keeping with the tonal change of comic-book films in recent years as well as to distance the franchise from the infamous Spider-Man 3; while others saw it as nothing more than the studio’s blatant and obligatory means of retaining the rights to the iconic character (which is true). Despite these concerns “The Amazing Spider-Man” received generally positive reception and now with the release the awaited sequel Sony are eager to prove that they plan to keep the rights to this character for quite some time. The legendary director Martin Scorsese gives us his 23rd picture in his almost 50 year-long career with The Wolf of Wall Street. Loud, bombastic and off the charts in almost every conceivable element, this 180 minute film is one that will not be forgotten any time soon and is definitely a worthy Oscar contender for this year.
