This film will make you cry. There is simply no other way of putting it; if you’re an ordinary human being with blood pumping through your veins and capable of feeling emotion then it is almost guaranteed that you will walk out of seeing “The Fault in Our Stars” blubbering like a baby. And that is not down to an emotionally manipulative or over-egged screenplay which is the case in many so-called “tear-jerker” movies. “The Fault in Our Stars” is a film that effortlessly gets its audience invested in these characters and their stories, to the point where you’ll have to remind yourself that it’s only a movie. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) – Film Review

After the enormous success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy back in the early 2000s, it was inevitable that Peter Jackson would one day bring J.R.R. Tolkien’s much-loved prelude children’s novel: The Hobbit to the big screen in the same fashion. And in 2012, the fans finally got their wish as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released, the first instalment in the controversial three-part adaptation of the beloved book. Much like everyone else I was incredibly excited to see this and revisit this world to see if after a decade Middle Earth still had it. Continue reading
